Booking and Payments
Booking Fee: A non-refundable 50% retainer is required to secure your session date and time. This amount will be applied toward the total session fee.
Payment: The remaining balance is due on the day of the session.
Rescheduling: Clients can reschedule their session once with at least 48 hours' notice. Rescheduling is subject to availability.
Cancellations: Retainers are non-refundable. If you cancel, you forfeit your booking fee.
Session Details
Punctuality: Sessions will begin and end at the scheduled times. Late arrivals may result in reduced session time without a discount.
Number of People: Studio packages include up to 5 people. Additional participants may incur extra fees.
Props and Outfits: Clients are encouraged to bring their own props and outfits. Discuss specific needs in advance for studio or outdoor sessions.
Editing and Delivery
Turnaround Time: Standard editing is completed within 7-14 business days after the client has selected their images. Same-day editing is available at an additional cost.
Additional Photos: Extra images beyond the package limit are available for 50 ZAR per image.
Image Format: Final images will be delivered in high-resolution digital format via a secure online gallery.
Raw Images: Raw, unedited images are not included or available for purchase.
Copyright and Usage
Photographer's Rights: All images remain the copyright of Ashley Smith Photography and may be used for promotional purposes.
Client Usage: Clients are granted a personal-use license, allowing printing and sharing. Commercial use requires prior written consent and may incur additional fees.
Photo Releases: Clients who do not want their photos shared on social media or promotional material must notify the photographer in writing before the session.
Safety and Environment
Health and Safety: Sessions will be conducted in a safe and professional environment. If a session must be stopped due to unsafe conditions or client behavior, no refunds will be issued.
Weather Policy (Outdoor Sessions): In case of bad weather, outdoor sessions can be rescheduled without penalty.
Special Services and Events
Weddings and Large Events: A detailed contract will be provided, outlining specific terms and conditions. A 50% retainer is required to confirm the booking.
Travel Fees: Outdoor locations will incur additional travel fees.
Disclaimers
Limitations: While every effort is made to capture perfect moments, certain factors (e.g., weather, lighting, client cooperation) may affect results.
Force Majeure: In the event of unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, emergencies), the photographer reserves the right to reschedule or arrange a replacement.
